CAHSE Members Win Best Poster Presentation at 67th ADPCN National Convention

The Commission on Allied Health Sciences Education (CAHSE) continues to advance
nursing education research as Commission Chair Dr. Ma. Encarnacion Dychangco, Vice Chair
Dr. Liza Floresca, and Commission Member Dr. Noriel Calaguas garnered the Best Poster
Presentation Award during the 67th ADPCN National Convention and General Assembly held
on October 2, 2026, at the Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel. Their research, titled “System Levers of
Experiential Learning in Accredited Nursing Programs, emerged as the top poster presentation
among 31 research entries presented during the convention.

The study examined accreditation survey reports from 15 nursing programs across the country
and explored the factors that contribute to high-quality experiential learning. The researchers
found that educational quality is shaped not by isolated requirements but by how effectively
learning systems are connected, reviewed, and continuously improved. The study identified five
interconnected system levers essential to successful nursing education: governance maturity,
developmental competency alignment, instructional continuity, feedback-oriented assessment,
and collaborative partnerships.

The findings also underscore that while simulation-based education continues to expand in
nursing programs, technology alone does not ensure quality learning outcomes. Instead,
simulation resources must be deliberately integrated into a coherent curricular framework that
supports student learning across classroom, clinical, and laboratory settings. The researchers
further emphasized that accreditation feedback can serve as a valuable mechanism for
continuous, system-level improvement rather than merely documenting compliance
requirements.

By providing a practical framework for evaluating experiential learning systems, the study offers
nursing schools a pathway for strengthening educational quality and ensuring a more cohesive
learning experience for students.

ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Dychangco, Dr. Calaguas, and Dr. Floresca
for this remarkable achievement and for their valuable contribution to scholarly research in
nursing education.
